The original upload, date, location, edit history, and surrounding context matter more than the caption added by a repost account.
A viral video can be authentic and still be misleading. Old footage is frequently attached to a new event. Cropped clips hide what happened first. Reposts remove the original caption and replace it with a claim the uploader never made.
Before a clip becomes part of Spin Shorts, Viral Laundry looks for the earliest available upload, checks the date, compares landmarks or weather when location matters, and searches for reporting from people or organizations connected to the event.
We embed from the public platform rather than downloading and republishing the creator’s work. The direct link remains visible so users can see the original channel, description, and updates.
Videos that cannot be placed in context may still be discussed as unverified, but they should not be presented as proof. This keeps the video wall entertaining without turning it into a rumor conveyor belt.
